Sleep Services - Sleep Apnoea
More than one third of New Zealanders don’t get enough sleep and 9% of people have a sleep disorder called Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA).
OSA is a condition wherein the soft tissues of the throat relax so much while you are asleep that they prevent air reaching your lungs. People with this condition wake up very briefly without remembering, so they can breathe properly. The result is a disrupted sleep that doesn't leave you feeling restored or refreshed, which in turn increases the risks of snoring, diabetes, heart disease, and day time fatigue.
If you complete an overnight diagnostic sleep test and it returns a positive result for obstructive sleep apnoea you may be recommended to start treatment with a CPAP machine. This treatment can be started here at the clinic.
We are a private clinic. This means that we have shorter wait times than the public system but also means that there are costs associated with treatment. Please see below for a breakdown of the costings.
Costing
Overnight diagnostic sleep test $129.00
4 week CPAP trial $250
CPAP machine purchase $1990.00 (plus a suitable mask $290.00/$300.00)

"I got tested at Anglesea Pharmacy by the lovely Sleep consultant. Whilst only having mild sleep apnoea I still use the CPAP machine. What a LIFESAVER. Going from 4 hours of sleep per night to 8 or 9 hours. I am no longer brain fogged and tired. This is a great offer. Thank you for this great service."
